I graduated in 1997 with a degree in Medicine and Surgery from theUniversity of Trieste with a final grade of 110/110 cum laude. In 2001, I received my specialization in Ophthalmology with a final grade of 50/50 cum laude, from the University of Trieste.

In 2008, I completed a Fellowship in Strabismus and Pediatric Ophthalmology at Queen’s Medical Centre, University of Nottingham, UK.

In 2016, I obtained a PhD degree in Nanotechnology from the University of Trieste.

In the years following my residency, I first worked at the Humanitas Scientific Institute(Humanitas Research Hospital) in Rozzano, Milan, Italy, and later delved into the field of pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus working at the La Nostra Famiglia association in Pasian di Prato, Udine, Italy. Since 2009, I have been a liaison to the Orthoptics Service of the Eye Clinic of the University of Trieste.

In parallel, interest has turned to anterior segment surgery, especially cataract, pterygium, eyelid, and emergency surgery. At the Eye Clinic, I have been a Tutor for cataract surgery for less experienced colleagues and physicians-in-training from the ophthalmology residency school at the same university.

For several years at the Eye Clinic, I was also a referral for the corneal pathology outpatient clinic, such as keratoconus, corneal degenerations and dystrophies.

From 2021 to 2022 I worked at the Centre Ophtalmologique Place de l’Etoile, Luxembourg, a reference center for cataract surgery and laser treatment of refractive defects (myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism and presbyopia).

Since 2023, I have been working at the Baviera Clinic in Milan, a reference center for refractive surgery, and I currently perform numerous laser treatments for the correction of refractive defects with PRK and Femto-Lasik techniques.

At the Bavaria Clinic, I also perform numerous cataract surgeries with premium intraocular lens implantation (toric, EDOF and multifocal), lensectomy for refractive purposes with multifocal intraocular lens implantation, and collameric ICL phakic lens implantation for correction of refractive defects.

I have performed over 2700 cataract surgeries and countless minor surgeries on the ocular adnexa and intravitreal injections of anti-VEGF.

I have always been interested in research. Over the years I have published numerous scientific articles in international “peer-reviewed” journals and still continue research in the field of cataract surgery and refractive surgery.

Since 2018, I have been a lecturer at ESASO cataract surgery courses in Lugano, Switzerland. I have participated as a speaker at numerous national and international conferences.

I perform cataract surgeries privately at the Sanatorio Triestino Nursing Home, in Trieste, and at the Baviera Clinic, in Milan. I perform laser, PRK and FemtoLASIK treatments at the Baviera Clinic in Milan.
